Issue 16April 15, 2024 Hello, BetaOn my mindLast week, I tried something different with my newsletter. Aside from the normal project updates, I delivered one piece of actionable content. This is what the best newsletters do. And eventually, this is what I want to do. However, I'm not quite there yet. It's easy to write about project updates. It's hard to create actionable content issue after issue. The truth is, some weeks, I don't have the time or energy to write more than what I have been. The good news is I'm learning way more about newsletters than I ever thought I would. I'm learning how to create a consistently valuable newsletter and the time commitment that goes along with that. And I've made it to week 16 of 52 in my goal to write a weekly newsletter. If I keep writing, everything is possible. Project UpdatesValenceNo updates this week. AgendafulI have some BIG NEWS. Agendaful is now in private beta! 🙌 What exactly does that mean?
This is very exciting and slightly overwhelming at the same time. It's that feeling you get when you finish step one and are not sure how or when step two will make an appearance. I have 1 demo call scheduled for next week so that's a start. It can only go up from here! I will continue to reach out to my network and hopefully get a few more demos booked. Here's how you, my readers, can help me:
I'll make it easy for you. Just copy this message: Hi! David Weiss is building Agendaful, a Slack app for 1:1 meeting agendas, and I thought of you. You can learn more about Agendaful here: https://www.agendaful.io. You can contact David here: david@madebydw.com. If you want things in life, you have to ask for them. So that's why I'm asking you. Can you do either #1 or #2 for me this week? Thank you so much. 🙏🏼 🔔 My weekly Agendaful goals 🔔
One last thing…My one last thing this week is The ONE Thing. No pun intended! I started reading this book by Gary Keller last week and it's blowing my mind. Someone on X recommended it and I'm so glad I crossed paths with this gem of a book. It's beginning to reshape my thoughts on prioritization, multi-tasking, and work-life balance. You know a book is good when it makes you say, "Wow. I've been doing it wrong!" Ironically, I found out about this book one week after writing about prioritizing tasks. The universe works in mysterious ways. If you want to level up your time management and productivity skills, I recommend this book. Thanks for reading this week. See you next week! 👋 |

Four Key Lessons From My Time as a Team Lead I served as a Team Lead for six months at Deepwatch. I learned more about leadership during this time than ever in my career. In 2023, the Product Engineering Department started a team lead program. The program works like this. Leaders in the department select one developer from each team. This person represents their team for one to two quarters. Two months after joining the company, the department chose me to be in the program's first cohort....
